Re: Diagnostic run with TS_FIXED

Dear All, although our setup with TS_FIXED (diagnostic run) worked very well, I would like to find additional publications/documentation that show the use of a similar setup (i.e., diagnostic run, in which in situ data are used to intialize ROMS). I am having a hard time finding publications and I ...

Re: progressive drift of temp, salinity and zeta

Hello Antonio, thank you very much for your reply. We found that in our settings the *volume conservation* option was not activated. now that it is defined, in one of our test runs, the variable ZETA stabilizes and does not increase as we had observed before. Seems like we are working in the right ...

Diagnostic run with TS_FIXED

Dear All, we are planning a diagnostic run with ROMS, and found the TS_FIXED option, which seems to do exactly what we are looking for. However, it is not clear what we should set as boundary conditions (Radiation? nudging?) for the momentum and the tracers. Also, how do the surface forcings come ...

Digital filter initialization and negative time steps

Dear All,

is anyone aware of the possibility of using digital filter initialization with ROMS?
Also, is there a possibility of setting negative time steps (i.e., modelling back in time)?

Thanks for your time.
Regards,
Ines

progressive drift of temp, salinity and zeta

Dear All, We are modelling circulation in a small domain (1.5 average horizontal resolution, 90*70 grid points) with atm and bry conditions fixed to those of the same day (boundary and initial conditions derive from numerous synoptic observations interpolated onto a regular 3D cube). After several ...

Re: the ssh is abnormal

Dear All, I am also obtaining abnormal (in my case very positive) SSH. I am forcing ROMS with zeta values that on average (over the whole domain) range -0.2 - 0.2; however, within few model days the values grow to several meters. I would like to understand the problem (for which I can't find a ...
