This is the exact same problem except with REAL instead of real:
Idigits(ng)=INT(LOG10(REAL(Lm(ng),r8)))+1
Jdigits(ng)=INT(LOG10(REAL(Mm(ng),r8)))+1

Kdigits(ng)=INT(LOG10(REAL(N (ng),r8)))+1

This happened in the C preprocessor step - the lines in mod_param.F are like:
real(r8), pointer :: time_min(:) ! starting time
