Here is the log file with passive tracer turned on(log-1999_dye.log) and turned off(log-1999.log)
The results left me wondering if the passive tracer switch would affect the temperature and salinity calculations, and aren't they calculated separately?

Re: Undulatory salt and temp if defiene T_PASSIVE
After one month simulated the results are obviously different between Passive tracer and without passive tracer.
Surface salinity appears to ripple near the boundary and in the middle of the model region when the T_PASSIVE switch is turned on and disappeared after the switch is turned off.

different salt and temp result between turn on and turn off T_PASSIVE
:D Hi everyone! I just find a problem if turn on the T_PASSIVE CPP option.
I have a Western Pacific model based on ROMS (version 3.9) with a resolution of ~5.5km. I chose 4-th order centered advection for tracers and moment.
The model had run for 5 years successfully. I want to add passive tracers ...

Re: Temperature blowing up near boundary while use nudge
If the boundary is at the edge of the plot, you want to mask out those two purple points. Otherwise you should unmask the point just north of them. At the boundary, the algorithm is using values a few gridpoints in from the boundary so they all have to be wet for it to be well-behaved.

Temperature blowing up near boundary while use nudge
Hello everyone! I was run a west pacific model ,and I want to use nudge to imporve the performance of bottom temp and salt
I made the nudge.nc file by myself. I set the tracer_NudgeCoef as 1day at the bottom level and decrease to 1/30 day at the 5th level.
But after the 5-month run, an abnormal ...

Re: Abnormal low temperature in bottome layer
Hello! If the area is very shallow the problem can be the heat flux, you can try use the forcing and Qcorrection instead of Bulk Fluxes. I had a very similar problem in a shallow domain, the temperature was very high or very low.
Thank you for your help ! I check the bathymetry where this ...

Re: Abnormal low temperature in bottome layer
Thank you for your help ! I check the bathymetry where this problem happen. Below is a temperature slice along 25.7N near Taiwan island.
. The depth of low temperature region is below 1600 meters , I don't think this is too shallow.

Abnormal low temperature in bottom layer
Hi everyone ! Recently I got a problem with my ROMS-only model. The temperature in bottom layer was below -10 deg C and this abnormal temp happened only in the slope region. If I change my CPP define TS_C4HADVCTION into TS_U3HADVTION this problem just disappear but other problems appear.Could you ...
