POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER (Computational Hydrodynamics)
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) in collaboration with the Center for Computation and Technology (http://www.cct.lsu.edu/) at Louisiana State University invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position in the area of computational hydrodynamics.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physical Oceanography, Applied Mathematics or related field; demonstration of a strong background in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) related to free surface flows and/or water waves; ability to develop and apply complex numerical models for simulations of nonlinear surface waves and coastal circulation using massive-processor, high-performance computing technologies; possess strong programming skills in FORTRAN, MATLAB and/or other languages. Additional Qualifications Desired: Ability to contribute and collaborate in an interdisciplinary, dynamic working environment; experience in advanced numerical methods (spectral-element h/p) and high performance computing (parallelization). Application deadline is June 15, 2007 or until a candidate is selected. Submit a statement of research interest, a complete curriculum vitae (including e-mail address), two relevant publications, and names of three references (including mail, phone, fax, and email), preferably in electronic pdf format, to:
