TPAR wave directions: correct or not on the ROMS grid angle

#1 Unread post by Eugen »

Dear ROMS users,

I have a short question.

I couple online ROMS and SWAN on the same grid. Should I correct wave directions in my TPAR boundary files on the ROMS grid angle?

To make TPAR files, I used a standard MATLAB scrip, which seemed to interpolate wave directions from the global wave product on my grid boundaries without taking into account its angle.

The angle of my ROMS grid (between XI axis and EAST) is 120 degrees.

no.
The TPAR files go to SWAN, and SWAN knows how to deal with them on a curvilinear grid.
Then Dwave comes from SWAN to ROMS, and the coupler knows how to deal with the grid.
So in summary, just put the data in the TPAR files as you would normally.
