question about the first half layer

Hi all

I may be asking a simple question but I really need confirmation

Does it numerically make sense to release Lagrangian floats at between the first W layer and RHO layer
as shown below

The most I am not sure is the horizontal vel in this layer

I assume the horizontal velocity within that layer is the same as that at the rho point. I'd put floats in there.
